Preparing a Sustainable Clean Energy Ecosystem - Skills for Battery Systems
Preparing a Sustainable Clean Energy Ecosystem - Skills for Battery Systems

The EU has set itself the target goal of becoming the frontrunner in achieving a wealthy and green Planet.

While promoting a green economy and jobs in this area, Europe is now facing the challenge of energy dependency. It is crucial to invest in renewable energy sources, to create the infrastructure and to improve preparedness to produce energy storage systems autonomously.

The workshop will provide a detailed overview of the skills and job roles required to implement a reliable battery value-chain.

Autonomous Operation and Virtual Reality in Maritime Applications: Job roles and skills
Autonomous Operation and Virtual Reality in Maritime Applications: Job roles and skills

The Maritime industry is at the forefront in autonomous operations. We read much about self-driving cars, but traditionally this is small scale pilots. In Maritime, autonomous operations have a longer history and the projects are larger. Innovation and technology development is rapid and advanced in Maritime. Leading battery technology is a key driver for the industry.

Autonomous operations drive the use of Virtual Reality and advanced simulation technology, to train new skills and competences for exiting new job roles in the Maritime Industry.

In this webinar we will share our industry insight with the audience. Register and join us in this debate!

Recycling Electric Vehicles’ Batteries
Recycling Electric Vehicles’ Batteries

Recycling the Lithium-ion batteries at the end of their life could provide important economic benefits, reduce the need for new mineral extraction, and provide resilience against vulnerable links and risks in the supply chain.

However, the challenges associated with battery disassembly are numerous, be they legislative or technical. For most remanufacturing and recycling processes, battery packs must be disassembled to module-level at least. This is currently mostly done manually. The weights and high voltages of traction batteries mean that qualified employees with high-voltage training, as well as specialized tools to prevent electrocution of operators or short-circuiting of the pack, are required for such dismantling.

Servicing of Electric Vehicles - Future qualifications needed

The transition from internal combustion engines to electrified vehicles in Europe proved, to this point, to be challenging, especially in terms of battery production and charging infrastructure. In the absence of proper and timely adaptive measures, EV servicing and maintenance might present another challenge for this transition and uptake of EVs.

This webinar aims to provide a useful and valuable overview of the actual and future needs in servicing and maintenance operations for electric vehicles (EV) in terms of skills, competencies and job roles, focusing on the needs and offers of training, the views of car manufacturers, repairers and training providers.
