The purpose of this project is to promote cooperation between all stakeholders in the battery and electromobility value-chain, to develop a blueprint for education and training for the battery production sector.
This project aims to act on the following matters:
WHAT
Indicate the selected technological applications for a) Stationary and Industrial use of Li-ion and other high-density green energy storage and b) Mobile applications, as typically in the transport and logistics sector.
Build a partnership directed to designing a blueprint for skills, knowledge, competences and job roles needed in the vertically integrated cell production area. Size solutions for addressing individual knowledge and skills gaps in an effective way.
Implement clear and shared values in the battery energy sector - on political, environmental and ethical issues behind this industry.
WHY
Battery production autonomy is a strategic imperative in the clean energy transition to re-join the EU long-term ambition to 2050 of an ecological circular economy.
Europe has an obvious need for investment in the production sector of energy storage. Across the whole value-chain research on new technologies is important, as is identifying new job roles and new needs of learning and upskilling.
A Battery and Electromobility Alliance can support European practice and action in the work market, smart specialisation and in developing a sustainable constellation for education and training in the sector.
HOW
Develop best possible applicable models to approach identified industrial and sectoral competence needs: defining and making education setups for new work roles, developing adaptive learning solutions and making use of recognition of prior learning.
Bridge learning before and at work in a lifelong development, working on customised process-based agile blended learning (ICT-integrative) and privileging Open Educational Resources (OER).
Advise on forms and timing for apprenticeships and work placement periods and deliver advice for training of trainers. This will result both in a number of showcases and actual pilot courses around harmonised job roles and description, recognised EU-wide, and impacting on workers’ mobility.
TO WHOM
Carry out new trainings to the workforce already working in battery sector, as well as to newcomers to the sector - provide VET trainings not only to the young students, but also the workers from other sectors.
Make the work known, open, accessible and useful for other stakeholders and target groups in the “Batteries and electromobility” wider ecosystem.
Focus on students in the various levels of education related to work roles by proposing the different educational providers ways to implement needed education and training solutions.
