D4.7 Desk research and data analysis for sub-sector ISIBA - Release 3

ALBATTS (Alliance for Batteries Technology, Training and Skills) partnership published the third release of the desk research and data analysis for sub-sector ISIBA: the report entitled ‘Skills and job roles in battery applications supporting the modern society’.

This deliverable ventures into the areas of battery applications uncovered by the previous research. It studies the stationary battery applications in data centres, renewable power farms and residential applications. Furthermore, it steps into the border zone between stationary and mobile applications, as it addresses the battery applications in the off-road type of heavy machinery used in such applications as mining equipment, forest machines, cargo handling and heavy construction equipment.

For this purpose, we collected intelligence from various sources to understand the needed job roles, skills, and competencies and the related operating environments, including technologies and drivers of change. Additionally, we conducted a closed interview with a data centre engineer working for one of the top companies in the world.
